What You Should Know About Huntington Beach Camping
Even if you are not a surfer, Huntington Beach is the perfect getaway for the avid sunbather, swimmer, or angler. Tent campers will find some seclusion in nearby state parks.

Bolsa Chica State Beach
This campground offers 50 RV or trailer only campsites with hookups for water and electricity. RVs up to 40 feet in length are accommodated at most sites. Picnic tables, outdoor showers, restrooms, a concession stand, and 200 beachside fire pits are available. A beach wheelchair is available for rent.

Visitors (and their dogs) can enjoy a paved multi-use trail running 8.5 miles along the coast between Bolsa Chica and Huntington State Beaches.

Crystal Cove Moro Campground
This campground offers 57 sites, of which 27 are designated for RVs or trailers and offer hookups for water and electricity. The remaining sites are designated as “low impact” and accommodate tents, soft-sided trailers, and van conversions.
A dump station is available onsite. There are also some uniquely secluded backcountry hike-in or bike-in-only sites that require 3-4 miles of travel to get to camp from the campground parking. There are also 46 vintage cottages for rent within the federally listed Historic District of the park.

This campground offers an incredibly rare opportunity to enjoy expansive open space and a natural seashore within Orange County. Visitors can explore 2,400 pristine acres on foot or by bike as well as 3.2 miles of beach. Divers can also explore an offshore underwater park spanning 1,000 acres and featuring a Giant Kelp forest.

This campground offers RV camping only, with 46 sites accommodating RVs up to 30’ and 45’ in length. RVs must be fully self-contained and factory-made. No conversions or tent camping allowed. Hookups for water and electricity (30 and 50 amp) are provided. A disposal station is located onsite, and public restrooms are open from 5 am-10 pm. This campground is closed June 1-September 30.

Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Park

Guests have access to laundry, a pool, poolside and beachside gazebos, and cabanas, beachside dining, e-bike and watersports rentals, a marina, and facilities for weddings and corporate events. There is also a waterpark and general store on site.

Free Beach Camping San Diego
Free camping is available within approximately a 40-mile radius of Huntington Beach. Campers may check in with the Lake Elsinore location of Home Depot, which may allow overnight parking.
A rest stop allowing overnight parking is located a few miles north of Oceanside on Highway 5. Also, free sites are available in Cattle Canyon along the San Gabriel River in the Angeles National Forest outside of Verne, California.
